Our first tree!

We decorated our first tree last night! This season is so special to us! Were a little obsessed with Christmas! So say hello to our first christmas tree! We didn't get to have one last year because our apartment was so small so we are very excited! Taken with our early christmas present the Nikon D5100!
Ps....Condo pics coming soon....I'm taking them right now!

Its been a while...

I can't believe that it has been since June that I have posted on this blog. The last few months have flown by and been quite crazy. But life is settling down now and I hope to be posting more often than just once in a few months! If you want to see more of our life than you should probably just follow me on instagram...I am much better at updating on there!!! My username is alibeeson! :) Before I try and update on everything that has happened the past few months...lets start with whats going on in daily life right now!

1. I got a new job at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in the Newborn ICU. Basically I'm obsessed with my job. It is the perfect fit for me and the best unit to be on in nursing. It was a crazy time getting there though. I have been wanting to get in the hospital setting since I got out of nursing school. I applied for 100+ jobs and was always feeling like it would never happen. After I had my bachelors degree and 1+ years experience I started getting calls for interviews. It was stressful when we were in Seattle and I was doing phone interviews. Towards the end of the summer I got an interview for a pediatrics position and flew to Utah to interview. Within a few days of us being back I had the interview in the NICU. Turns out that I ended up getting both the peds and nicu position in the same week. I chose the NICU and I couldn't be happier that I did. I love love love those little babes more than anything.
love that its pink...
2. Brock is a super star and is juggling both a job and the advertising program. He seriously amazes me with how hard he works. He has been working 20-30 hours a week and still maintaining his school work. That boy is a hard worker and I couldn't be more proud of him. He is constantly trying to learn as much as he can. And on top of it...I frequently come home from work to a clean house..including vacuumed carpets :) His momma trained him well :)
Love my computer nerd!
3. We love love love our new apartment! We have spent a lot of time painting and decorating our apartment and really trying to make it home. And now it really is home. It has been so fun actually doing what we have wanted to in this apartment. And it has paid off! :) More pics to come soon of the apartment! If you want to come over we love having guests!!!! :)

Our Little Ones

One of the best parts about being in Washington this summer has been that we get to see our nieces and nephews all the time. We LOVE those little ones to say the least! They are so much fun and it has been so awesome for us to get to see them more often.
These little ones are not so little anymore....Brooke and Brent's kids LOVE their uncle Brock. We got to babysit them the other night and they were jumping all over him. Sadie (one in the middle) told me that her Uncle Brock is the funniest and that I am just sort of funny but she still loves me :) Spencer can say both of our names and we just love that cute smile of his. Kate is growing up like crazy and loves to be talking and hanging out with the grown ups now
And then there is Brandi's son Cade. Pretty much one of the cutest kids that we know. We bring him airheads when we go see him just so that we can see how excited he gets and starts running around the house showing everyone about how he got an airhead from Ali. Brock lives for having sword fights with Cade. They could "kill" each other for hours and hours.
And then there is Brandi's newest little bundle of joy. And my bundle of joy....I lovvvve little miss Blakely. I completely admit that I am a Blakely hog. Whenever she comes over I steal her away. She is so adorable and the other day was awing over Brock. They were totally flirting with each other. We love her and thats that. :)

Well there they all are. They are great. And within a couple of weeks there will be another. We love love love them all! Its been so so fun! :)

Crafty Ali

If you know me...you know I'm about as far away from being crafty as you can get. But since I have had a little time these past few weeks I decided that it was time that I put my crafting skills to the test. And it worked! I made a chevron canvas for my apartment and I am very very proud. Here it is..
first you tape it.....
then you paint....
then its finished! :)
And if your wondering...yes I used a template to put the tape on.....no way could I have done that free hand...and then I took white paint after and went over the spots that bled a little from the tape :)

One Year Ago

Today marks the one year mark from when my favorite guy got home from his mission. I can't believe that a year has passed since that amazing day. And literally it has only gotten better since then. I pretty much have an amazing husband. And I am so grateful that he served such an amazing mission. It has blessed my life so much. I adore him a little :)

My Momma

Happy Mothers Day to all you momma's out there but especially mine! She's by far the best one and I am so glad that I get to call her my momma! :) I'm sure missing her today! :( But 3 days and I will see her in California! Love you momma! Thanks for all that you do for me! :)

We're Here!

Well we are here! And when I say here I mean in Seattle! We got here a few weeks ago now and things have been pretty crazy getting settled!  We were lucky to have Brock's companion Nate drive up with us and we got to do some fun things with him! We did the regulars here...go to Kerry Park to see the view, Pike Place Market, Space Needle, shopping at Bellevue Square...ya know..my favorites!
fav view in seattle.
Then I got sick! Reallly sick...actually I was starting to get sick in the pic above. And I stayed sick for a good few days. Finally the antibiotics started kicking in. And just a few days ago I got better. Heres a lovely pic of me at the doctors office. They made me wear a pretty mask :)

Then just as I was feeling better....on Monday we had a crazy miracle happen in our family! Our little nephew Cade was supposed to be at nap time when he somehow opened the window in his room and fell out of his second story window. My sister in law Brandi heard the crash and went out and Cade was screaming and saying that his bum hurt. He was brought to Harborview Medical Center where they found one fractured rib and lots of bumps and bruises. It was seriously a miracle. He got released today and is doing so good. It has been amazing to see how much of a trooper he has been. We are all so happy that he is ok!
So to say its been crazy has been 100% true. But most of the time I'm just chillin...doin little errands and letting my boy work work work. He loves his job and is having a lot of fun and learning a lot. But I hate him being gone all day long. I think I've decided that I don't like it that he will have to work. I hate it. No thanks! I know it has to happen...but I don't like it! So if your bored and in Seattle..let me know! Because I am most likely free! :)

17 years.

I was in school for 17 years. I've been graduated for a week and a half. thats it. And I'm already bored. While I was in school I was begging to be done with it already..but now that its over...I just don't know what to do with myself. Its amazing how quickly I can get bored. But 17 years was a long time. I literally can't remember a time when I wasn't in school. I did have those lovely summer breaks growing up, but since I started college there literally hasn't been a semester that I haven't had some classes. I didn't take summer off. I was always in some sort of class. Its really weird now.

So I need a new hobby. And I don't know what that hobby is yet. But in a week and a half I'm going to have a lot more time on my hands. I've decided not to transfer my nursing license over to washington for the summer and instead I am going to nanny but that doesn't start until the middle of June. So I may die of boredom until then if I don't find a new hobby. So do you have any ideas for me? And it can't be to expensive of a hobby either. I need help people. Pinterest has become my hobby and I'm obsessed with that...but it does get old.

So I need a hobby....help me. :)

RN-BSN

I graduated!!!!! FINALLY! I feel like it has taken forever for me to get my bachelors after I got my RN. It was so worth it though. For my graduation my parents took us out to the Roof in Salt Lake! Brock and I had never been there and it was a yummy occasion! I decided that I didn't want to go to Rexburg again to walk and man am I glad because that meal was to die for! Thanks Mom and Dad for taking us! :) I now have 5 initials after my name! RN-BSN!

the view at the Roof...beautiful!

Oh Vegas...

For my birthday weekend and to celebrate my graduation Brock and I decided that it was time to head down to Vegas for a fun weekend! Sadly...it rained and was stormy most of the time that we were there so there wasn't much pool time..but we did get to explore the strip quite a bit, shop, and eat yummy food! :) Brock hadn't been there since he was a kid and he got a good taste of what Vegas is like. We got to go see the Cirque du Soleil show "O" at the Bellagio which was beyond fabulous and I highly recommend it! We couldn't believe some of the stuff that they could do and walked out feeling very happy with how we spent our money.
the beautiful water show at the bellagio
Before the show!
We did the "Coke around the world" testers
It was such a fun weekend for us to get away from the routine of things and just have fun with each other. We got to relax a lot and get away from dang school! We can't wait to get to go back! :)

Chicken Pot Pies

Anybody like chicken pot pies? Well we do. And I still haven't been able to master them without mom yet but over the past few months we've all made them a few times. And they are delicious.
I do the crust
Brock puts in the veggies
Mom does everything else...she doesn't like pics though :)
And the best part....you put them in the freezer and take them out any day that your feeling lazy :)

Day of Love

So I'm back to blogging. School is over! :) And now I'm catching up! And it starts with Valentine's Day! Our first as a married couple. And of course..it happened to be on a day that I was working! But we still made the most of it.

I'm not a big breakfast person, but Brock loves his breakfast. So I made him pancakes, bacon, and eggs and got the best orange juice :) This was a big deal because since I don't really like breakfast...I don't know how to make it! But I did it! ...with a little help :) Brock had chocolates waiting for me when I woke up (He knows how to get to my heart)
Then it was to work for me...and Brock went skiing with Nate! (Not fair!) During work he brought me my favorite lunch..Cafe Rio and then when I got off he picked me up to go home and change! When we got home there was flower waiting for me and a cute card. Love that man.

Finally to top it all off...he surprised me and took me to Tucanos!!! :) By far my favorite restaurant. We had such a fun time. They had it all nice for Valentines. It was so fun! I'm so grateful to have a guy like Brock with me forever! :)

He got in!

I'm so proud of this guy! We found out on Monday that he got into the Advertising Program at BYU! He worked really hard on his portfolio to get in and definitely took the time to make sure that he got in! And he did! :) I'm so lucky to be his wife :)

Neighbors, People, And Things

Husband is working out. I'm sitting on my little bum. Its a regular thing these days. Ok for the past couple days. School is taking up all my time and since its online...it means me sitting on a computer for hours. The neighbors behind the kitchen are yelling at each other again. I hear them every couple days. Literally yelling. I mean..the walls aren't very thick..but they are YELLING. Thankfully I have a husband that couldn't raise his voice at me even if he tried. I swear if I try being mad at him he just tells me how he loves me. He's the best. They yell so loud over there. I hope that they are alright and can fix their issues.

Tonight I'm missing certain things. certain people.

Like my sissy. We talked today on the phone. She's having some cool adventures over there but I asked if Iran could bomb Israel so that she could come home. She said she wouldn't be to happy about that but if it did happen that she hopes she gets a refund. Have you seen her cool muslim getup? She's like a terrorist waiting to happen in those clothes....:) thats a joke :)

Sandals. Summer warmth. Its never really gotten to be winter to much here but I still am missing that warm summer heat. And sandals. Boots can get really old if you ask me. I love everything that summer entails. Please come soon summer.

Just two of the thoughts on my mind. Husband. Please come back soon. The neighbors are scaring me. Seriously I almost want to go over there and see if everything is ok....of course I won't. But I hope they can work things out :/

I love you.

I love you Seattle. We can't wait to be back with you this summer. We will see you soon. And we can't wait!
isn't she beautiful?
If you didn't know yet...Brock is doing an internship and I am going to be nanny a few days a week this summer. Can't wait.

Mondays and Friends.

I swear on Monday's Brock and I do homework all stupid day. Ok actually I feel like I am doing homework all time. But its my last semester and I can do anything for one more semester. Some days it feels like its never going to end though. But for me it will...Brock on the other hand still has a while!! :/ Poor boy!

Monday's have always been a drag. But lately there has been something fun that I've been doing on Monday's. Grocery shopping. I know, its not normally something that fun...but my best friend Abbey and I have been grocery shopping together since we got married for most monday's that we can. And really...its a lot of fun. Some mondays we get to go out to lunch after but like today we just went shopping and that was that.
little girls
Abbey has always been one of my greatest friends. Actually I would say she is the best friend I have ever had. And now our husbands are good friends too. Its probably the best situation I could ever imagine. Before Brock got home from his mission we would always says how they were going to be friends but they really are now. We do dinners every week with them and I couldn't imagine life without these guys.

friends.

Catching Up!

Sorry I'm awful at blogging. I used to get all high and mighty with my sister-in-law about how she never blogged and how she needed to be better at it. This was when Brock was on his mission and I of course had nothing better to do than blog about how I missed him. Now that we are married...I swear its like I just don't have any time to blog. When I'm not working..its school, or him that I am spending my time on. Or cooking..cleaning..watching our favorite shows..you know. Blogging? Not on our priority list. But I've made it a new priority to start blogging again. Hopefully it happens because I am taking a full load of credits for school online and working full time. To say life won't be a little bit crazy is an understatement.

Did I say Happy New Year yet!? I have a feeling that 2012 is going to be fabulous! :) We brought in the new year....sleeping. I had to work new years and new years eve so therefore we slept. And I said happy new years to Brock at 4 in the morning when I woke up for work that morning :) Oh and guess what? I got a new job! In Provo! I am VERY excited and VERY nervous. I was really comfortable at the veterans home but it was becoming so stressful driving an hour there and back. I am going to be doing pediatric home health here in provo and just had orientation the past two days. I'm freaked out by the idea of this job but hopefully I like it. It should be really different but thats whats awesome about nursing is there is so many things that you can do with it. I think I will like it once I am used to it! But we are in Provo full time now. Its only been a week and things are already less stressful. Its just nice to be in one place.

Christmas this year was pretty crazy..and great! It was our first married Christmas and we both had both of our families in Seattle so we decided to split the time between families which was pretty insane! It worked out pretty well in the end and we got to spend a lot of time with both families. Probably the best part was seeing our nieces and nephews. We LOVE those little kids and miss them so much when we are in Utah! Las margaritas was of course amazing and so was burger master and teriyaki. It was just good to spend time with family and have a nice break! :) We played games, had a fire, power went out on christmas day, mom got sick, ate a lot, opened presents, ate again...you get the picture! It was a blast :) Christmas is my favorite time of the year and it was awesome to be married this year and spend time with Brock and both our families ;)
Christmas Eve at gmas :)
